Week 6 Term 4

This week we will be learning about keeping safe in the sun.
Draw a picture of yourself in the sun wearing all the things that are going to keep you safe.
Then answer these questions:
1)Why do you wear a sunhat when you are out in the sun?
2)Why do you have to put on sunscreen on a hot sunny day?
3)How is a t-shirt going to keep you safe in the sun?
4)What's going to keep our eyes safe in the sun?
5)Where are some good places at school to keep ourselves shaded?

Week 4 Term 4

Maths: Measurement
Measure these things with the palm of your hand: table ( long and short sides), fridge (width), cupboard door ( width) bathtub ( long side). Now try again using a t spoon. Is it different? Was it easier/harder to measure?

Here's something fun. There are 5 differences to find. In your home link book, write down where they are.
 ( I have done the first one for you)

Week 3 Term 4 

Read and Read and Read to become expert readers!

For writing this Wednesday I will be asking the children about this picture. It is titled " The Market". Please talk about this picture with your child, if they were there in that point in time what would they see, hear, smell? Ask your child to describe it as best as they can too.




Week 2 Term 4

Last week we were learning about what makes a good story, in particular, a traditional tale. Some of the things we found out were: they have characters, they have a setting ( where the story takes place), there is a problem and then a solution. Listen to the story and in your homelink book answer these questions below.


1) Who are the characters in the story?
2) Where does the story take place?
3) What is the problem? 
4) How is the problem solved?
5) Did you enjoy/ not enjoy the story? Why?




Week 1 Term 4:

Read for 10-15 mins each night.
Help mum or dad make dinner or lunch. Write down the instructions on how to you made it.


Week 2 Term 3

Read for 10 to 15 minutes each night

Draw a Picture in your home link book to show yourself in the " Day" and in the " Night".

Learn to tell the time by playing this fun game.

Week 3 Term 3

-Read for 10 to 15 minutes each night.

-Choose one book you have read, write down and answer these questions:

1)What is the name of your book?

2)Were there any new words you learnt? Write them down.

3)What was the story about?


Week 4 Term 3

What's going to help us with our reading? Read and Read and Read and Read.
Choose one of your reading books and do the same as in week 3.

1)What is the name of your book?

2)Were there any new words you learnt? Write them down.

3)What was the story about?

We are going to make popcorn on Thursday. Please find out how popcorn turns into popcorn. Write or draw your ideas into your homelink book to help you remember.




Week 5 Term 3

Lots of reading this week, as I will be doing some tests on children.



Week 6 Term 3

For Religious Education this week we will be learning about Rituals: A set way of doing something. In class we will be discussing prayer rituals. ( Setting up our altar, starting with the sign of the cross, Morning prayers etc). Discuss with your child rituals that he/ she take part in at home eg: getting ready in the morning, dinner time, bedtime etc.





Week 7 Term 3

Maths: Practice your doubles this week: 1+1, 2+2, 3+3, 4+4 etc right up to 10. See if you can say them quickly.

Write this story  below into your homelink book. Oh no, the Capital letter taker and the full stop stealer have come. Make sure you add these into your book too.

Story: on the weekend i did some gardening the weather was beautiful i enjoyed planting new seeds and watering the plants i can see that there are new vegetables in the garden that have already grown these are turnips and carrots i'm sure joseph, layton and christian will enjoy eating the carrots

Week 9 Term 3 Already!!!!

Golden Time this week is Wacky Hair, so bring in your best wig or hairstyle.

We have a new tab called " Essential List Spelling"Try this out this week for homework. 

Read and Read and Read!! We Love our reading. 

Religious Education this week we are learning about the Church. In your home link book write and answer these statements about our church.
